Monthly Coaching Focus – Body Positivity

This months coaching focus is on body positivity. I chose this because it’s the most challenging for myself and I think it can be challenging for others as well.
Having a body positive outlook is hard for me. I think sometimes If I lost weight I would look better, then I would feel ok about myself, about my body. I look back to when I weighed 105 I remember my mom pointing to my belly and saying “you have that pouch of fat” I didn’t know how it got there, I never noticed it until she pointed it out but that was the moment I started to think negative things about my body. I was never skinny enough and when I was the right weight for my height I had a “pouch” was this real? Was it imaginary? Was it my mom finding something, anything to bring me down to make her feel good? Was this a part of her own insecurities? Looking back I’m sure it was a mix of it all. So how do I get to a point where I’m satisfied with my body? To where no matter what size I am, I’m ok to be who I am.
So this month I will be reading and studying body positivity, we will dive into what it is exactly, how we can cultivate it for ourselves and how we can continue to have a good relationship with our bodies no matter what anyone says to us. Come with me on this journey, this new positive love affair with our bodies. ♥️
